5 Minutes Make Up

Whether you’re a student, mom, or busy woman on the go, you know that sometimes five minutes is all you have to from drab to fab.  For those of us who like to spend closer to an hour fixing our faces a deadline of five minutes can be pretty daunting, but it doesn’t have to be. Today’s cosmetics formulas are made to go on quick and last for hours – the perfect solution for busy ladies everywhere.   By following some simple, basic makeup steps, you can achieve a fresh looking face. This works best in summer time when you need less coverage, but it’s easily adaptable to colder weather when more product and color is desired.

Conceal Imperfections

Using a brush, beauty blender, makeup sponge or your fingers, apply a powder or sheer liquid foundation.  Blend  evenly across your face and neckline. If using concealer only, simply cover the areas of redness and discoloration to achieve an even tone to your skin.

Using a jumbo eye  pencil in a neutral tone, smear a bit of liner along the lash line and across the lower lid.  Perfect application isn’t important here because you’ll be smudging the color a bit for a blended look across the lid.  Apply shadow in a coordinating color over your smeared pencil to set the color and add a bit of depth and subtle shading.  Create further definition with eyeliner, then smudge it a bit for a soft, smokey look that’s perfect for day.  A quick curl of your lashes and a couple coats of mascara and your eyes are done.

Use a baby pink or rosy blush on the apples of your cheek and blend out the edges. For saving time, try using powder  or cream blush which is a easy to apply and gives a bright burst of color that really leaves you looking healthy, fresh, and alert.

Finish with a clear or lightly tinted lip gloss.  Using a lip liner is entirely up to you if you want to create a bolder lip or more symmetry to your mouth, but it’s not really necessary.  A small dab of your favorite lip balm or gloss will pull your entire look together, match the color to your outfit if you wish for a completely coordinated look.  A dusting of pressed powder, or loose translucent powder, will set your makeup in place and keep you looking fabulous for hours.

With some practice you can have this down to under five minutes, easily, then you will find you’re only limited by your imagination when it comes to creating fabulous makeup looks that leave you feeling confident and gorgeous.
