The 1970’s were ruled by natural, athletic and tanned beauties. With the rise of the feminist movement, women wanted to sport a look sans makeup. They were the women who epitomized freedom from the conventional beauty standards. The trend was to look natural sans any makeup. It became an ‘in’ thing to look like the surfers from the Venice Beach: tanned skin tone, golden glowing face and a minimal makeup.

Makeup Tips for the Retro Look
- You should begin with a clean face. You should use a very light foundation such as a tinted or liquid moisturizer. You want to make your skin appear even. Ensure that your eye area is not left out. So, cover up any discoloration present in the eye area.
- You should always keep your eyebrows as natural as possible. You should not worry if the hairs are too long. You can simply brush them to keep them looking neat. For this purpose, you can use a disposable mascara brush.
- You should apply mascara in a soft black or dark brown shade. The main goal is to define your eyes in a subtle manner. You can either coat your top eyelashes or include your lower eyelashes as well. Also, you can use a white eye pencil to rim your inner lower eyelash line.
- You should apply bronzer on your hairline, jawline, chin, tip of your nose and cheekbones. You should only use a fluffy brush for the application.
